About the Artist
Mair Perkins has been drawing anime portraits for people since 2007. She started at anime conventions and local arts and crafts events then set up a website with an online shop.
Mair has been an anime fan since her childhood when she would stay up late to watch Akira and Evangelion on the sci-fi channel. When anime such as Dragonball Z, Pokemon, Tenchi Muyo and Sailor Moon began airing on UK television, Mair was inspired and drew many pieces of fan art. Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Suikoden, Super Mario, Metal Gear Solid and other Japanese games all influenced her style of art.
Much of Mair’s fan art can be viewed in her DeviantART gallery under the name of tifachan.
In 2006 Mair began studying animation at the University of Derby and graduated in 2009 with a BA (Hons) and then a Masters degree in 2011.
She currently lives in Derby with her husband and and works as a full time professional animator and illustrator. You can see more of her work at www.mairperkins.co.uk.
